Recording a Lecture. Any Advice
I was wondering if someone can help me.
I'm a student and I wanted to know if anyone had any tips on how I can record my lectures instead of just placing a tape recorder on my desk where is pick up so my ambience noise? Would the quality be better if I have a shot gun mic connected to a digital recorder? And what I mean by digital recorder is on of those personal recorders to tape memos for your self. Thanks, Bryant |

Even a shotgun will pick up room ambience, although it'll tend to reject some of the off-axis noise. Best bet is proximity. The closer the better. Sit in the first row and use a mic at the podium. I'd recommend a wireless but they're expensive and the batteries will add to the cost of use. Dean Sensui Base Two Productions |
I just went up to my profs and told them I couldn't hear very well and did they mind if I wired them up with a wireless. Worked very well. I recorded the lectures and listened to the recorder output with headphones at the same time.
