Ooh Anna -- swearing is really frowned on in here. Hate to see you get bounced. I know a sound guy out here who uses the Wendt exclusively as well. Certainly SD isn't the only company that can make a good mixer.

Oh Marco, I wasn't swearing at anyone. I'm using it as a description. I mean, "a lot" of people doesn't sound like as many or elude to the juggling involved as well as "a shitload" does.
I mean, we're all adults here. |
Will the Wendt 3 channel take 5 inputs?
The 5 channel wendt is up to 4.5 lbs. again, then with 8 batteries on top of that. The SD has more lights so it's more like it's dancing, expecially with the curve. For reality shows they do all sorts of things. They don't use union writers. They'll be doing even more all sorts of things in the new year. Reality heaven/hell is coming! |
And here's one made for the reality shows, so you don't have to lug around a bunch of ganged mixers:

To answer the Wendt question earlier. A Wendt X2 has two inputs, a Wendt X3, three inputs, the X4 has four inputs, and the X5 has five inputs. I've own both the X2 and X4 at various times. Both are top notch mixers and every bit as good as the 302 which gets mentioned here by folks a lot. I think Wendt's biggest issue in the past was they started with the x4, then made the x2, then the x5. For a long time they simply didn't have a three channel model. Looks like now they dropped the X2 in favor of the x3 and if you want 8 channels you can now link the x3 and x5 together. Wayne |

I checked or local rental and the 302 is available but the 442 is not. |
call Sound Devices and ask who rents 442s. They can mail it to you.
I have a list of rental facilities in the US in one of the appendices of my little book just for occasions like this. Regards, Ty |
