Ambient Recording TinyMike Kit

I came across this mic setup and have to admit it intrigues me due its size.

I haven't found any information on the quality of the mic and wanted to know if anyone had experience with it. I'm looking for a high quality mic to go with my HC7's and so far the quality of the Azden SMX-10 mic I got for it has left me wanting - but I got it due to the small size - all other shotgun mics are just too big. I use to have a RODE VideoMic but it was too big for the HC7 as well.

Any ideas on this?

Where do you get it and how much is it?

The USA dealer is listed as Germany. There are two dealers in Canada.

Have you seen this Audio Technica mic?

The actual length isn't given. I don't know if it's better than the one you have.

I'm seriously considering this mic based upon the specs. The size is much smaller than anything else.

I considered the ATR55, but the thing is over 11 inches long and the attached cable is 3 feet long and that's just too overwhelming for a camera like the HC7. I try to get fairly close to people I'm shooting and the smaller mic allows them to forget their being recorded.

The Azden SMX-10 I ended up getting is over 4 inches shorter than the ATR55 - but I'm probably paying the price in audio quality. It's lightweight and inconspicuous. I can clean up the audio in post, but I would rather have as clean an audio track as possible - for the time being it will have to do unless someone else chimes in with more info.

You can find the tinymic at B&H special order. Try this link. I'd be interested if anyone has any experience with it. If this link doesn't work just go on the B&H web site and search for tinymic.

That test made me vey interested in the combo with both mic and mixer.

I will probaly buy it this summer since i think it will be a perfect mic both for "consumer" and prosumer cams
