Rycote Duck

Does anyone know of a supplier that has a Rycote Duck? I haven't been able to find a source.
Thanks.
Pete

I didn't know that's what they called it. Says it's water proof, but you know what it's like in the rain.... everything will get wet.
You should contact your local Sound place or Coffey Sound, Trew Audio etc.
or Maybe Redding and they will order it. I'm interested in knowing the price.
Or go to the hardware store and buy some furnace filter "hogs hair" and wrap your gun.

If anyone needs to order it ... comes from Rycote thru Redding I believe.

Just what is hog's hair?

I've heard hog's hair mentioned in other threads. I have spent my share of time in hardware stores, but this is a new one for me. Can you give me a little more information about the stuff?
Thanks.

Answered my own question

Ahhhh... the power of the Google search. Hog's hair is a fiber matting that sometimes is sold in rolls. I could probably dismantle a cheap furnace filter.
Thanks.

I was actually thinking about making one of these things. Rycote beat me to it, but it bothers me that it doesn't fully cover the blimp.
Maybe use this and cut it and glue together for better covering.. but this hogs hair isn't water proof, it just stops the raindrops from making noise.
But what about adding a thin layer of goretex somewhere. i need to see one of those "ducks" to see how they waterproofed it.

Hmmm...looks like foam. Is it just sprayed with waterproofing?

Looks like you can make it yourself.

If it covered the whole thing it would absolutely effect the sound.
