Seperating Audio Tracks

I captured my DV tapes from my Canon XH A1s using Premier Pro CS3 and it saves the file to a MPEG file.
When I put this in the timeline is there any way to do the following.
Save just the audio part of this file?
Seperate the L and R channel (I used a shotgun and lavalier mic)?

If you could pont me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

In PP CS3 you can set the audio to be a stero track or 2 mono tracks.

1. Select the clip in the bin (make sure it's not already used in the timeline)
2. Choose the audio options from the clip menu.
3. Choose Source Channel Mapping from the flyout

You can then tell PP to treat the audio as 2 separate mono files - you do need to set your sequence up to have mono tracks to receive the clip's audio.

Hope this helps (page 293 of the manual has more!)

Wow, that makes so much more of the audio great instead of acceptable. I really apprecaiate that info.

Hi Denny
Yes, I use this one all the time. Makes audio SO much easier!
All the best
Graham
