I'll second Dan's recommendation. If you're using pro mics with XLR, the HHB has awesome mic preamps, far surpassing any M-Audio, Edirol or Zoom portable recorder. I've recorded many, many hours of acoustic music performance with this deck and a stereo pair, sounds *great*, and sync to video has always been easy.

I really like HiMD. Biggest downside is the proprietary software for capture. Who knows how long that will be supported? It's great technology, but it's on its way out sadly.
