XLR-BP 3 Pro v. XLR-Pro
I have heard good things about the XLR-Pro. The XLR-BP 3 Pro. is another adapter made by Studio1 <http://www.studio1productions.com/xlr-bp_3_pro.htm>.The write-up sounds good, but that doesn't mean much. Anyone here had any experience with the Studio 1 version of xlr adapters?

Not the latest versions. Bought the older versions and they worked very well. Those devices were made by Sign Video out of Portland, OR. I now buy the adapters from them. Very well made, very quiet and priced OK.
Sign Video made all of the Studio1 electronic products in the past. For some reason they now sell them directly under their name. I think they are better made than the Beachteks as some people have had problems with the Beachteks. But that is just my observation. I bought from Studio1 because I had purchased their proc amp and it worked as advertised. Others had had problems with the Beachtek equivalent (and some didn't) so I stuck with Studio1. Now I've moved to Sign Video. |
I have Studio 1's old XLR-PRO and their newer models, both the XLR-BP Pro and the XLR-BP 3 Pro.
I prefer Studio 1's newer models over their old one. The sound quality is slightly better now and it much easier to hand hold the camera since it clips on your belt. For my needs the 1/4" input has come in handy many times. Although I don't always need the 3 input model, I have used all 3 inputs several times and it has been a blessing for me. Rob |
