XLR to miniplug adapter

I was at a taping (the Freak Show in Coney Island!!) and I noticed a PD150 that had the adapter with both the miniplug and the XLR ends that were elbow shaped. I have looked around and found plenty of adapters with an elbow shaped miniplug, but the XLR end? Any info on that? Anything to shave an inch off my SGM-2X!

Thanks,
Marcello

Try Markertek. Not a pretty site, but they specialize in carrying cables and adapters for "Freak Shows". <g>

I bought 90 degree elbow XLR connectors for use with my boom poles that have their internal cable connector coming out the butt of the pole. Saves having the sound guys set the pole butt down on the cable and ruin it.

I had Markertek make me a couple of 20 foot cables with the 90 degree connector on one end and use brown cable so I can quickly locate the cable from the others piled in the cable bag.

Thank you, Ken and Mike.

Today I went to B and H (before getting your replies). They were, as usual, very helpful. They (two different guys) suggested that i get the Shure A96 transformer to go from my SGM-2X to the VX-2000. Not a right angled plug to be found on that baby, but my question is, how important is the tranformer? I know that it balances the signal...
I also realize that i am now in the terrible world of the "hiss", with all of of it's vicious rumors and myths, and truths. Do you suggest the transformer? Do you use one?

Thank you again,

Marcello
