*HELP* Which mixer should I buy for...

Hey guys,

I use a azden shotgun mic for my sony vx-2000(oh ya beachtek dxa-4 xlr adapter) and I recently purchased a modest boom pole. I would like to start using a seperate mixer for my boom mic, I'm clueless on what to look for when I walk into B&H next week. Whats a pretty good mixer that is modestly priced? What should I be looking for in a mixer also?

Hey, I just purchased the MXB1002 - 10 Channel 5 Mic Compact Portable Mixer made by BEHRINGER for 118.95 from B&H. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bh3.sph/...ID=F6539ED5D50 A good review of it is at http://www.samedaymusic.com/product--BEHMXB1002

The two most popular consoles that also can do portable mixing are the Behringer listed above (my soundguy likes his) and the Samson Mixpad4. If you want to go for more professional, field-hardened (and exponentially more expensive) gear, look at the Sound Devices MixPre.

I really love my Mackie 1202vlz. it's not portable becuz it needs wall power, but, it's small enuff to move around easily.

The marenius 3100 is at the top of my short list.
