2 radio mics. 1 camera. solution?
 

Im looking at an interview situation with 2 people - and potentially using 2 radio mics - or lapel mics. Whats the easiest solution?

Im not necessarily looking at the cheapest, just a workable solution.

I have considered 2 wired lapel mics, into a beachtek box.

Your thoughts gratefully received.

No worrying about batteries running out and radio interference.

Agreeing with Hsien, any time you can use wired mics, best practice is to do so.

Wireless is for when you can't use wired, because wireless introduces many more possibile ways in which to get bad sound or no sound.

What type of interviews? Sit down? Walking around? On the street? Indoor? Outdoor? Active talent with lots of movement or static in one place? High RF area in busy city or hotel room in small town? Budget for "the good stuff"or "how low can we go?"
Crucial content one time event or okay to re-shoot on a bad take?
I'd ask myself a lot of questions to get down to the root. I use the Sennheiser Evolution G2 wireless with a Countryman B6 lav, along with a RODE NTG-2 shotgun or AT 4053 for most of my stuff. I have hardwired lav mics, like the MKE-2, but prefer the convenience of wireless. However, most of our stuff we can re-shoot if there is an RF hit - which is extremely rare in my experience with the G2's - even on a busy trade show floor like NAB (see the videos at the bottom of this page http://dvestore.com/theatre/ for an example. Shooting 3 days on the trade show floor with 1 RF hit proved to me that the Sennheiser Wireless is a decent bang for the buck.
