Adding additional mic Sennheiser G2
I have a Sennheiser G2 Wireless system (with one mic) hooked to my Canon HV20... works perfect, no problems.
Question... I really want to add a mic for guests on my show. Can I simply add another wireless unit w/ mic and the receiver will just recognize it? I realize if this does work, all audio will be on the same channel, but I don't think I care... or do I? (again, assuming that what I suggested above even works). Thanks, Scott |
You can only use one transmitter at a time on the same channel. You can get another receiver and transmitter and use it on a separate channel.

Edward: Sorry - your post hadn't appeared when I replied. |
I figured as much...
Is there another system that will allow multiple mics on one receiver...? I'm just trying to figure out what the cleanest, most cost effective solution would be for multiple mics. |

So, just another G2 wireless system is about it... now I have an issue of mounting the two receivers on the camera...

Dear Scott,
There are systems that put two separate radio receivers in one case so that you can use two separate transmitters. |
Such as the Audio Technica 1800 series of wireless - 2 receivers in one case, belt-pack transmitters & plug-on transmitters available.
Seems to me there was a guy selling a couple sets in the DVInfo classifieds a couple days ago... |

You could also just stick velcro on the back and velcro on your tripod.

I ended up spending another 500.00 on an additional Sennheiser (sigh) Wireless system... as well as this:
Cool-Lux | MD-3000 Light and Sound Bracket | MD3000 | B&H Photo Thanks for the help. It stinks when my audio equipment is more expensive than the camera :P |

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT??? :-) Seriously, inferior pictures are always better received than poor sound... |

And .................... If you bought a Sennheiser MKH 416 when they first came out in 1975 you could sell it s/h today for at least double what you paid for it in the first place - you can also buy a new one today if you like.
You would have gotten through about ten changes of camera in that time. Anyway - in most cases the pictures are not really important - they are just there to keep your eyes occupied while you listen to the sound. ;-) |

Having a decent wireless system is a real advantage in al kinds of shoots. You acted wisely in buying the 2nd G2 set. It's a good investment that will serve you well over time. |
sennheiser g2 used price ?
I have a sennheiser g2 ew100 setup and need another one.
I am concidering buying this used. Im wondering what the used price for the ew100 transmitter and reciever should be. Anybody have a oppinion of that? |
Update
Good points... certainly an investment, but well worth it.
Vegard... I looked everywhere for a used one, no good deals. I ended up going with AVGiant via eBay and made an offer of 475.00, which was accepted. It shipped quickly and was brand new from the factory. Now I need to bite the bullet on another Tram mic... My rig keeps growing and growing: http://www.sacreativeservices.com/fo...uff/hv20_1.jpg http://www.sacreativeservices.com/fo...uff/hv20_2.jpg FYI...
