Mini disc vs. DAT?

Just wondering how well a mini disc recorder would do as opposed to a DAT recorder. Any suggestions as far as brand/model. It will be used in addition to a sound mixer/mic as a backup for an indie.

Thanks,
Kris

Iam curious too.

I saw interviewer from a big Dutch radiostation doing an interview with a tiny little Sharp MD-MT290 and a Senheiser mic.

For voice work the HHB MD500 minidisc works well. I've been using one for two years with good results. It's fine for music like rock, too. But for stringed acoustic instruments, you'll be better off with DAT for the harmonic overtones...
