Good point- I did notice the decription of the signal to noise ratio being "A-rated" when comparing the two systems on B&H's website. I just didn't know what it meant and assumed the Senny was rated under the same scrutiny.

One thing that I have heard is the lav mic that comes with the Evolution 100 is better than the one packaged with the UWP-C1. Not a big deal though beings I'm planning on upgrading. The final straw that helped seal my decision was the price. I bought the UWP-C1 in a package with my PD-170. I only spent $350 for the UWP-C1.

I've heard that the mic that comes with the Sony is
not too good.
It's not often mentioned, but the mic that comes
with the Senn is about the most sensitive lav mic
on the market. More sensitive than Sanken, Tram,
Countryman, et cetera. Myself, as I work in the field rather than in a studio, I value sensitivity
in a mic. The only mic I could find as sensitive as
the one that comes with the Senn system is one
from DPA.

ohh i forgot one more major pain with my senn system

the battery compartment takes hurculean strenght to open...real nice when time is short
