Mounting ZoomH2 to Beachtek & GH1

Okay, despite having the GH1 on backorder, I've never noticed that it didn't have a monitor for audio (i.e., no headphone jack) until just now.

:(

I do have an alternative plan.

I'm planning on running my audio from the microphone through a Juicedlink box (I really like the pre-amps). From there, I SPLIT the audio, with one line running into a Zoom H2, and I monitor from the Zoom H2. The other line runs from the Juicedlink to the camera, to be used as a "backup audio" or "scratch" track until it can be synced in post.

Question is - how do I mount the ZoomH2 onto the camera/tripod?

A Shoe-to-1/4" male should do it.

I guess I'm confused as to why you're trying to make this more complex than it really needs to be.

Mic to H2. DONE.

The camcorder WILL have a mic. That will get you a scratch track.

In my experience, the worst thing you can do on location is to make things more complicated than they need to be.

You either trust your gear or you replace it with something that will do the job.

And the goal is always to transport and use MINIMUM amount of stuff you can, so that you can get the equipment stuff sorted out as quickly and easily as possible and get your brain where it belongs on set - out of the technical crap an onto creating the content you need.

My 2 cents anyway.

Good point, but there's a number of reasons I'd like the good audio to be on the camera as well.

I seem to have solved my problem by the way with a $20 cold-shoe to 1/4" male adapter. Should work like a charm.
