Shock mount for two mics? M/S stereo...

Is it possible, or practical, to mount two mics on a camcorder that only has a single mic holder built-in?

I have a small Sony PDX10 camcorder. Could I use a third party shockmount to put a dual mic M/S stereo setup there? Such solutions are probably not make dependant, so the PDX10 is not the key here.

If you have mounted two mics on a camera, then how did you put a windshield there?

What is your objective, Ralf?

Contact Manfred Klemme at K-Tek/. he has a piggyback mount.
It's just a fig8 shaped band made of the same material they use for their standard shock mounts.

It's not shown but i do know it exists. Manfred emailed me with some other details and mentioned that he had this rig. The price would most likely be around $20 for the piggyback bands. Yhat's a guess base on the $20 price tag for the K-SUS mic suspenders.

If you're shopping for a shock mount, these are very functional designs.

To put a figure 8 mic there so that I could change the "mid" mic according to my needs (from shotgun to cardioid or even omni) and allways have the option of adding a bit of stereo ambience.

(check the lengthy thread about AT825 etc.)

With a cardioid or omni mid mic it would work great.

It's possible, though, that I take the easy and expensive path buying a one point stereo mic...

I think that Bryan solved my problem...

Thanks for the link, Bryan.
