Can ME2 be used as a wired mic?

I recently purchased the Sennheisser Evolution G2 100 Wireless system that included the ME2 lav mic. I was wondering if there is an adapter I can use to directly connect the mic to the XLR inputs of my camcorder (which supplies 48v). Thanks.

Probably have to make your own but it should work.

Tram as well as some other manufactures make an adapter that will allow you to do that. The Tram model is TR-79

Thanks Mike and Marty,

The Tram TR-79+ looks like it would do the trick, but is a bit out of my price range. May have to go the route of making my own adapter.

Thanks again,

Careful now! I wouldn't go plugging a lav into an XLR input with a simple adapter.

Phantom power is 48 volts and a balanced input. The lav capsule itself only requires 3-9 volts and is unbalanced. The "adapter" has to convert the power and balance it up.

That's why it costs what it does.

Marty,

Thanks for the word of caution. I'll keep that in mind as I continue to look for an affordable solution.
