Reporter Microphone
 

Hi all,
I just looking for a hand held microphone which always use by thos ENG as hand held mic . I have checked shure , senn , sony and AT also have no that model (since that mic is thin and very long but not shotgun) . Can you give me some hints about it ?

Probably a Shure. Here in Chicago, it appears that 2 stations use SM57 or 58 and 1 uses the SL61 which is long, thin and comes in your choice of 3 beautiful colors. I use 1 myself and like it a lot.
Check out BH photo in the audio for video, handheld wired mic section for details. BTW, they can both be used with a plugin transmitter for wireless use.

You might want to try the EV 635 for a wired mic. If you are going wireless, I would examine the Sennheiser systems.

I like the AKG D230. It's all personal preference.

The EV RE50 is another popular ENG mic.

The mic you're looking for is the RE50... THAT'S the mic you ALWAYS see these days. Be it NBC, CBS, ABC, The Jon Stewart Show, CNN... you NAME it... that's the mic you see on cam.

I got a D230 and I like it, but I've considered getting the RE50 just because it's both a mic and a PROP... since it's the mic you see the most it gives your interview style shots more credibility.

I'd say that's the cheapest prop/mic you could find for video. There are probably other ENG mics which sound better... but that's the one you ALWAYS see newscasters using on the street.

What's the difference between the re 50 and the re50n?

I'm an SL 61 fan, but I also like the PL9. Remember those? I've even got an old Cronkite PL666 that's a lot of fun.

"n" stands for neodymium... hotter output... get that one.

About the only exception to the dominance of the RE50 is in sports, where there are a lot of Sennheiser MD46 handhelds.
