Newbie in need of audio gear
 

I recently purchased an XL2 for use in short films/docs, ect. but want to do weddings to pay off some of the cost. The XL2 is unable to use the onbard mic and the XLR's at the same time. What is a good, dependale settup that wont break the bank for getting good audio. I dont intend to do weddings for long so im not looking to drop a ton of money. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mark, I think people are reluctant to reply because "good and dependable" costs money, and you have strongly implied that you can't or won't spend much, and on top of that you didn't say what your your budget is.

Remove the xl2 on board mic and replace it with an AT897 which will plug in to one of the rear XLR mic inputs. Plug whatever you want into the other XLR input.
