I have a sennheiser shotgun Mic that goes on top my cam....
Can anyone recommend a way I can make it into a handheld mic when I need one? How can I build or put together some sort of handle or grip for it... that doesn't look to dumb around people?? haha THANKS |
Which model mic do you have. Many news orginizations are using the ME66 as a handheld. Just don't fidget when your holding it.
If it's an MKE300 than the same might apply but that mic is a tad small to get a grip on. |
It's the MKE300
What can I do to it to build some sort of handle for it? |
Brent,
I think you might be talking about using a Hand Grip or Pistol Grip. Look that up at B&H and see if one of these is what you're thinking. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...rch&Q=&ci=8658 |
Patrick... those bottom two are perfect... BUT
with the 3/8" female on the bottom of the Sennheiser MKE300... when I connect the grip it it wont be strip up and down it will create an L shape |
How would I make this work??

dv.com did an article on a shooter who uses the Sennheiser MKE300. http://www.dv.com/features/features_...cleId=17501890
(registration required) "For interviews, she has the Sennheiser rigged to pop easily off the top of the camera, and she'll quickly pass it to her subject to use as a hand-held." Maybe you can figure it out from looking at the pictures on that site. |
awesome

When you actually put this info to practice, write us a report on how it worked (and what didn't work). That will help us all.
