mic recommendation
the kit - recording sound into the canon xl2 (16bit) i'm filming on
the location - 10 x 14 foot room, carpeted, bare walls. one of the short walls is almost completely window. the purpose - shooting dialogue-heavy scenes. other notes - hardly any ambient noise. the room is very close to silence when we keep schtum. minimal cast and crew - max of four people present at any given time. major restriction - can only afford £500 tops. which mic would you recommend? many thanks in advance! |
no takers?

It's just that this is not the best day and time for quick responses, Jon.
When the heavyweights do check in I believe they are going to recommend an AT8053 or similar mic on a boom pole. |
cheers fred. i mustn't be so impatient!

get octavasmike with cardioid and hiper cardioid capsuls , k teck shock mount and some nice boom pool , since you are running dyrectly to the camera ill sudgest add in line filter 60-80 hz to eliminate hangling moise
500 pounds - do have better valiu in the staes with these products - save your national pride and shop cheap in us if you ll check carfully some of these could be find used in good shape so used good preamp mixer + used boom and 250 $ octava + 150 for the shock mount thats very realistic for your budget |

From what you say, you'll need 'em. Ty Ford |
I'm not overly experienced with audio so please pardon my ignorance. Where can I find an inline filter and are there are times one would not want to use it? All my stuff is boomed.
