K-Tek boom question

Just got a surprise tax refund check -- Yes! -- and figured this would be a good time to upgrade from my trusty Gitzo aluminum boom pole. Those K-Tech poles with the internally coiled cable look like just the ticket, but there sure seem to be a lot of choices on the cabling. I was looking at this bad boy here, the K-152CCR:

I like this pole because the cable exits from the side, instead of straight out the back. Some people have noted that it's awkward (and possibly damaging to the cable) to set the end of the boom down when the cable comes straight out the back. Sounds good so far, but I just wanted to make sure there weren't any other issues to consider. Is there ever a time when you would WANT the other type of cabling? K-Tech makes an adapter that can be attached to their other poles to allow the cable to exit from the side, so I just wondered if I would ever want the extra flexibility.

If you ever plan to use a plug-on transmitter (to make a wireless boom) then the end exit is probably better then the side exit.

Aside from that I'd say it's a matter of preference.

I just clicked your link and that's a great choice... good length and no compromises anywhere.
