Which adapter for Gl2 and AT835b

Hello
Which type of adapter would be good for the gl2 and the AT835b mic? The beachtek, signvideo or other?

Thanks
Jason

Unless you are always working in loud environments, I would get the BeachTek DXA-8.
It will allow you to boost the relatively low sensitivity of the AT835b to a level that can use the MicATT setting on your GL2.
If you do work in loud environments, or you plan on buying a higher output mic like the AT4073a soon, I would go with a DXA-6.
If cost is an issue, the DXA-4P, the Studio1 or Sign Video adapters that use transformers (the lowest models don't) are acceptable and have different strengths and weaknesses depending on how you work. None of these models can provide phantom power or gain boosting, which can be very beneficial.

I plan on using the mic on a boom pole for most of the time. So the dxa4p or signvideo pro xlr wont have a strong enough signal for th gl2?

thanks

That depends on what you're recording. For very quiet dialogue it may not have enough signal to get a clean hiss-free recording. There are much worse cameras than the GL2, so you're about in the middle of the road. You wouldn't have any room for error though in quiet situations with that mic using a passive XLR adapter.
Do you have any way to try one of them out before you buy?
