Rode Video Mic and Camera Light?

Has anybody got a tip as to how this great mic can be fixed to a hotshoe WITH a top light? I'm testing this with a PAG C6 toplight.

I've tried this with a hotshoe adaptor/extender, but I'm finding the mic cradle is still bumping up against the light.

TIA,

Grazie

I suspect you'll need a dual bracked that offers two shoes, one on either side, and mounts to the tripod mount over the tripod shoe.
You don't want the mic near the light anyway, that sort of heat will affect it's sound quality, and may damage the plastic housing if left on long enough.

Douglas - thanks for that. And yes, my thoughts are the same on the heat and closeness thing. However, I'd want to keep the light on the central axis of the camera. Hmmm... so a bottom tripod adaptor?

I have noticed that the Rode has a series of bands locating the the mic in its "shipped" position. I was also wondering if it would be possible to rotate, reposition the the mic 90degs so as to move it away from the light?

TIA

you could try an L flash bracket M

Graham - I have a VM and it does not look like it's possible to rotate the mic in the shockmount. The best option for you IMO is to put it on a bracket, leaving the hotshoe open for another accessory.

I just had a look at my VM, and it is completely possible to rotate the mount by unhooking the four o-rings at both ends. You can rotate in 90 degree increments. Depending on shoe height, you may run into problems with the mic contacting the camera though. I use an L flash bracket to mount light and mic.
