G3 sennhieser - 1 transmit, 2 recieve for redundancy, is it possible?
Hi,
I currently have a g3 1 transmit and 1 receive, and I was thinking of adding another receiver so I would have a redundant system. So I will have 1 transmit and 2 receive. 1 receiver goes to h4n, another receiver goes to camera directly. Anyone doing this system settings? Or does it makes sense? Any help would be appreciated. thanks, |
Should work fine. As long as both receivers are set to the same frequency as the xmitter, they'll both receive.

It will work fine - but is not truly a redundant system as you only have one transmitter.
Two transmitters feeding two receivers on different frequencies would be truly a redundant system. Not so expensive as you think - as you can normally get systems at a good discount, while receivers on their own are normally only sold at full retail - you may find the price difference very small. In this case I would get a second system. |

I did a Papal visit in my city many years ago and all the official crews to the event were given the 2 frequencies the popes lapel mics would be on prior to the event. |
