Sennheiser ek 100 vs ek 112 anyone know the difference??

You're quoting the individual model numbers - as in the EK100 is the on camera receiver, and the EW - note not EK 112 is the package of receiver, transmitter and mic. There isn't an EK112 component.

The second pair does not exist.

The ew 112 G3 is a kit consisting of an SK 100 G3 pocket transmitter, an EM 100 G3 diversity receiver, a mains PSU for the receiver, an ME 2 omni tie mic., batteries for the SK and a manual

The ew 112-P G3 is a kit consisting of an SK 100 G3 pocket transmitter, an EK 100 G3 diversity pocket/camera receiver, a camera mount for the EK, an ME 2 omni tie mic., batteries for the SK & EK and a manual.

The second is basically the same as the first but has a pocket/camera receiver instead of the mains receiver.

The ew 100 ENG G3 is basically the same as the (second option) ew 112-P G3, but adds in the SKP 100 G3 plug-on transmitter. This saves a lot of money compared too buying the 112-P system and adding the SKP later.

The part number is actually listed twice in the body of text

Yours is gone and there are no details.

What worries me very much when I look at the links is the lack of frequency information listed - so you have no idea what you are buying and if it is legal to use.

I would have expected them to list the version letter (ie: A, B, C, D, E or G) and give the frequency window.

In the USA only versions A, B and G are legal.

Version C used to be legal but is now withdrawn and illegal. Low prices suspect me to think that some people are trying to off-load illegal band C stuff.

If you have bought already check the frequencies.

Legal in the USA:
Range A = 516 - 558 MHz
Range G = 566 - 608 MHz
Range B = 626 - 668 MHz

NOT legal in the USA:
Range C = 734 - 776 MHz
Range D = 780 - 822 MHz
Range E = 823 - 865 MHz

B Band (Frequency range 626...668 MHz)

you can find ew112 for $450 and zoom H1 is $100

I guess the rest is worth around $50

No big deal there if you ask me.

oh, and they say "Includes all items packaged with the Sennheiser EW 112-p G3 Wireless Lavalier Mic Kit by the manufacturer".
If you get what you see on the pictures, that locking minijack to xlr cable is not the one that's included in the original kit.
And the original kit includes Duracell AA batteries.

I'm pretty sure all G3 systems are U.S. legal.

No! - All G3 systems are *not* US legal.

Only versions A, B, G and GB are US-legal.

Versions C, D and E are *not* legal in the US.
