In ear phones = to Sennheiser HD280?

On shoots I normally use Sennheiser HD280 headphones and are quite happy with them, Is there a brand and model of "in ear" phones that are of good quality and suitable for location recording? [not music just dialogue with radio mics and boom poles]
I'm NOT expecting equal sounding but wanting good quality sound never the less.
The reason is at times a broad brim hat is more suitable in hot harsh environments.

Take a look at Etymotic ER-4 in-ear phones - they are quite good and you can get a custom ear plug molded to fit your ear exactly if you want.

They're pricier than the HD280's (which I also use) but I think they actually sound better than either the HD 280 or Sony 7506 when properly fitted/inserted. if you don't get them well seated you can lose a lot of bass, but when properly seated they block most ambient sound. B&H sells them for about $300 a pair.

I had a local audiologist make up a pair of molds, but haven't gotten my ear plugs yet, I'll report back when I get them.

Only negative is the thin wire that connects them to the plug - it's strong enough but has a tendency to get hung up on stuff. I think I'd run it under my shirt if I were out and about.

I use a set of Klipsch X-10, they give awesome isolation (better than any headphones) and they sound awesome. well worth the price IMHO

If you are used to the HD 280 - I would look at the Sennheiser pro range:- IE6, IE7 and IE8.
