Lapel mics for Zoom H1

Hello All,
for the last year or so, I've been using the H1 with Giant Squid lapels to great success. I, however, do not love the clip which is clumsy and does not fit well over a jacket lapel. I'm looking to upgrade my mics and see no sense in putting a Sanken on an H1. Can someone recommend a solution for that?. I'm selling my wireless and would love something I could use for corporate interviews, etc. to replace the Giant Squid. btw I have emailed Darren at GS about a different clip and have not heard back from him...
Bill

I wonder if you could toss one of the new $11 RODE Vampire clips on the Giant Squid.
RODE Microphones - Vampire Clip
At $11 that may help solve your problem. We had a long time customer in last week that was pleasantly surprised to find that the Countryman B3 he had purchased previously fit with the RODE accessory. The foam cap however would not fit on with the vampire clip, but it was a trade off he was willing to make.

There are also replacement clips for similar sized mics that may work and have more tension. For example Sony has a 4 pack of lav clips for the stock lavalier that ships with the UWP-V1 wireless. Sony Product Detail Page SADHV1B2

Guy, the Giant Squids are soldered on... so, I'd have to either get another mic or get the clips changed out..

That's interesting! I wonder what the construction procedure is. The heat of soldering the clips onto the body would certainly not be good for the capsule.

They appear to simply take an ordinary miniature alligator clip (like the standard Mueller Miniature Alligator Clips, Alligator Clip) and solder it to a piece of brass tubing. Then hit it with some black (or white) paint. THEN (after it is cool and the paint is dry) insert a 50-cent electret mic element into the end. Add some cable and a connector and sell it for $30. Such a deal.

Better than one of the competing brands, also proudly made here in the USA (in my fair home state) which solders unshielded headphone wire to the electret capsule, then puts heatshrink over the whole mess, and charges more. I'd much rather have brass tubing and decent construction.
