Where can I find a Cheaper Shotgun Boom Mic Kit?
Hi guys,
I'm shopping for a "Shotgun Boom Mic Kit" which is very reasonable in price for someone at a starting point in business. can you advise any with a kit? I found this one at model B&H Azden # SGM-1X for $149.00 but that is just the mic and no kit. Here is a link to this mic: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...ddedTroughType Do you recommend this Mic? Also, where can I find the rest of the kit for a reasonable price or can I build something to make it work? Thanks, ZIA |
what are you plugging in to?

Ty, I'm going to use it with my XL2 on a boom pole.

Cheaper Mic?
That one you linked to seems a pretty good buy to me. If you are going to be in business, you are going to have to spend money, and a mic like that is a lot cheaper than starting with a radio microphone setup.
Here's one I've been looking at, and thinking of buying. At the moment I've been using an external mic on a long cable, but someone nearly tripped over the cable at the last wedding I did, so time to try something different. Can anyone point me to a good wireless mic setup for camcorders? |
Take a look at the Rode Videomic. It's in your price range, and Rode makes several inexpensive accessories for it: boompole, windmuff, XLR adapter plug, etc.

FOr wireless, look at Sennheiser G2100ENG kits. I like the one with transmitter, receiver, and butt-plug transmitter to plug into an XLR mic. Lets you boom wirelessly....
