audio input in DSLR

I own a nikon p 7000, I was trying to feed audio in it via a TASCAM dr100, audio is only MIC input so the line out from tascam or whatever si too loud and unusable.

Ca i use a tascam dr 1000 as audio interface for dlsr's? does it deactivate any auto gain internal the my nikon p7000?

Re: audio input in DSLR

You will need an attenuating cable to connect the line output from the Tascam to the mic level input of your camera.

There are many brands and styles available with different levels of attenuation and some also have an extra headphone output.

Here's an example that came up in a quick search: Kopul ACH4-25MON Line-to-Mic Attenuator Cable

It gives 25db of attenuation and has a headphone out. You may need more attenuation and not need the extra headphone out, you'll need to search and determine what will work best for you.

Thanks for your answer,

well DSLR'S could finally provide a 25 db pad to be wired at line outs level signals.
