What mic would you suggest?

Hello, I need a little help. We are using GL2s to video hunters . We need to use something other than the camera microphone. It seems to me that wireless lavs are the way to go.

Typically, there will be one hunter and the camera operator. They may be sitting together in a blind or on the ground on a stalk. Should a hunter harvest an animal, there is a short interview.

We have three GL2s that may be used together at times. I suppose each would use a different frequency? How do you use more than one wireless mic with one GL2?

Forgive me if I am asking too much.

Thanks,
Micky

You need one wireless for each channel of audio on the camera if you want to plug in 2 mics. in other words, two mics means two wireless systems on independent frequencies. If you want 3 mics, then that's 3 wireless' plus a hardwired mic that you might want to use as an ambient mic for background audio running beneath everything.
You could also just use one wireless per GL2, and if you wished, use a wired mic for the second channel. The GL2 would require a splitter adapter, because it only has a stereo 3.5mm input. You could also use a Beachtek or Studio hardware box mounted beneath/belt to the camera to split inputs or provide a balanced input to one channel or both, for wired and/or wireless.

Thanks for the information, Douglas Spotted Eagle. You have been a big help. Brian over at Zotz is helping me figure out just what I need.
