Yes, I've used that mic in the past. It's been a while, but I remember the quality being fine, though not outstanding. They are just about indistructable. The biggest downfall I see with the SM-11 is its size. Compared to most of the lav mics on the market today, they are HUGE! I would look at Audio-Technica (AT-803b omni or AT-831 Cardioid), or The Sonys (ECM-44, ECM-55 and ECM-77 I think - don't quote me!). If you want to step up in quality (and in price, too), you could look at a Tram or the Countryman B6 that is practically invisible.
