moleskin-like Lav mic holder ?
Somewhere in the forum I stumbled onto a post that recommended a cool little moleskin-like patch that are designed to hold the lav mic and adhere to the talents body.
The item is sold at B&H, as the link they posted was to that website. Needless to say I saved the link to B&H in my favorites but cannot find it now. Anyone know the product in question ? Will be helping on a shoot that has a segment where the camera follows the talent around a grocery store or somewhere similar. The patch seemed like a good way to secure the lav mic. thanks, - K |

Are you thinking of Rycote "undercovers" and "stickies"? http://www.rycote.com/products/mics/index.asp http://www.rycote.com/products/mics/stickies/index.asp |
Yes !
thanks Steve |
i have the rycote's both the double sided one and the double sided one with the overcover.
they also have a third one with a small piece of fur almost like a fly fishing fly. another thing to try is made by garfield and they call it a hush lav. what is it is something that at first glance looks a LOT like a disposable hearing protector except there is a hold through the middle and it is made out of hypoallergenic makeup sponge material so it won't irritate people's skin. i haven't used them much but its pretty straight forward, you just poke your lav through there (it is primarily made for the sanken cos-11 but those are what i use) and you just use medical tape and tape the sponge thing to someone's chest. these are all tools and i like to have all of them in my kit so i have lots of different options. matthew |
