Question for those using Hi-MD and SonicStage software

I just read a user review where the comment
was made that when a PCM recording was
uploaded to PC, it was converted to ATRAC
and/or .OMG.
They said they couldn't find a way to have
the linear PCM be uploaded as .WAV.
Anyone know anything about this situation?
(Obviously, if I were recording uncompressed
PCM I wouldn't want the PC upload to
be converted to compressed ATRAC.)

Dave:

I just tested your issue with my HiMD MZ-RH10. When you transfer the "PCM" file to your hard drive using Sonic Stage, it does designate it as an ATRAC file. However, the recording is at the same level as a full .wav file, ie., 1411 kbps, and 44.1 kHz- When you save it to wave format, it appears to me there is really no recompression going on.

Chris, what is the file format extension
once it is uploaded? WAV?

Also, do you know anything about what is
happening with "high sensitivity" setting
vs. "low sensitivity"? Is one a pad?

Extension is .oma.

I uploaded the resulting .wav file. This is just a crappy test recording from a crappy a cheap sony stereo mic.

The file sizes are different by about 2 kb, which I am guessing is attributable to a changing of the header to make it proper .wav format.

Here is .oma file. I don't know if you can do anything with it, but in case you can.... I actually put a .wav extension on it so it could be uploaded here. Remove it if you are going to try to use it in Sonic Stage.

accidental double post.

So, when you upload through SonicStage it
arrives as a .oma and then Sonicstage
converts it to .wav?

Are you happy with the ease of use of
SonicStage? No problems with
glitches/crashes of the program?
