Interesting stuff all of it! I will be starting my own fishing videos next year so i have done a lot of research and i am now at the stage of trying to evaluate what has been good solid advice and what is perhaps OTT advice and not strictly necessary.

The wireless G2s are said to offer great value for money and do a pretty damn good job on most ocassions.Comparisons with the more expensive lectrosonics came out fairly good for the G2s with one exception. That on very quiet recordings you do tend to hear noise disturbance from the G2s. This says one experienced sound man was the difference between the lectronics and the G2s. I had intended to hire out a pair and see for myself, but my lack of knowledge generally might be a hindrance to achieving a quick conclusion. Perhaps some of you guys could give your own valuable experience as to recording in the quieter environments with the G2s. I need two sets of wireless receivers so moving up to the lectronics greatly adds to the cost. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know, but I'll let you know how I like them. I just ordered 2 sets of the G2's. Everything I've heard on them has been really positive. I think for that close range that they will be plenty good.
