xlr splitter

I recently was asked to get an xlr splitter cable to run output from one mic to two hdv cameras.

Is this an appropriate way of feeding two cameras? Would there be any attenuation problems?

it's worked fine for me in the past. Not with HDV but that alone shouldn't make any difference.

As a basic rule of thumb, Two XLR cables cannot be combined into the same input, but one XLR cable can be split into two different inputs.

Isn't that what he's asking?

1 (female) into 2 (male) {Bescor 4-Pin XLR Female to 2 4-Pin XLR Male Y-Cable---there are other mfgs just grabbed this one} which btw I'm looking at my splitter cable right now as well as a 2 into1-{Bescor 4-Pin XLR Male to 2 4-Pin XLR Female Y-Cable}

Don

Wouldn't that be a one into two?

Don Bloom March 18th, 2007 09:03 AM

Yep, you're right on that one (I typed it diffeerent than I thought it) but I think we're saying the same thing just different ways. Just as the 2 different splitters can go 2 different ways-both ARE 1 into 2 but going different ways.
Like I said I think we're both saying the same thing just saying it differently.
