You're right - it does sound a bit metallic in sections. I'm not sure where the reverberation came from - there doesn't seem to be as much on the file I posted up. Did you add that?

I'll try adding an atmos track and syncing it to pictures tonight and see how it goes...

Hi Chris,

I've done quite a bit of ADR (as an actor) and they always have us watch and listen to the original in order to match the performance. There's a specialized overlay on the video that gives the actor a visual cue on when to start speaking. I'm guessing you won't be able to replicate that, but I've always found it useful to see and hear what I did on the day.

For ambience, why not record a background roomtone in another location that fits but isn't as noisy? Something that could work for an ice cream shop, but without the fridges. A small restaurant maybe?

And I would try to do the ADR in a garage or whatever as suggested, especially if you don't have the resources to try and tweak the studio sound into something more natural.

No - I didn't add any reverb to the clip - can only assume it was there under the fridges! I just did the NR fairly quickly, but fine tuning the noise sample should yield a better result.

How much soundtrack do you have that's bad?
