mixing adapter and non-adapter footage
I'm working on a short film. This past weekend, we had trouble with our 35mm adapter, so we had to shoot 2 scenes without.
I've got it working - but I've been told if I shoot the rest of the scenes with an adapter, it will be very jarring and the footage will look very different. Is that the conventional wisdom? I'm on a tight schedule, so it would be hard to shoot with the adapter, then find out it's too different from what we've already shot. I realize no one reading this knows what the film is about, but I'm wondering if any has any thoughts? thanks |
Nope. Mixing footage is fine as long as you've been using an adapter of decent quality. You can soften up your non-adapter footage in post if you notice a bigger difference than anticipated. I do it all the time and no one's ever noticed.
