Lens with Letus Extreme and Canon D400

Hey everybody,

I am planning to buy a Letus Extreme. What lens would you recommend if I want to use it for the Letus Extreme and for my Canon 400D? Budget would be around 600 dollar/ 500 euro. Was thinking about Canon EF 70-200/4.0 L USM (https://www.cameranu.nl/artikel/34/C...4.0_L_USM.html). Any help would be great.

Cheers
Niels

what lenses do you already have for your 400D?

A single lens for the Letus won't get you very far.
And that Canon EF 70-200/4.0 L USM is going to be slow on the Letus and not very operator friendly.
I would look for something that has manual Iris, and is around f2.8 or faster.

For what its worth, I use Contax mount Zeiss lenses with a C/Y to EF lens adapter for spectacular results on Red One, any DOF adapter, or my Canon DSLR.
Good Luck!

An f4 zoom may have a brightness falloff issue in the corners at the wide-end. Also, is this zoom f4 through the entire zoom range? There are accounts of some Canon auto iris lenses being unmanagable on groundglass adaptors without having the stills camera available to reset the iris.

Fast manual prime lenses will serve you better as suggested above.

Thanks for that guys. Don't have any lenses yet, so searching for the best solution I can use for both. What fast prime lenses did you guys work with that satisfied you?
