16:9 with 35mm adapter lens

i am interested in make my own 35mm adapter but have a question. Are you able to somehow shoot true 16:9 with an anamorphic lens with the 35mm adapter?

Basically I wanna use the 35mm adapter and get a true 16:9 using full resolution (not the camera 16:9 effect).

Is there a way?

Currently I am using a century optics 16:9 anamorphic lens, using my 4:3 mode in my camera, squashing the stretched image down in post (full resolution 16:9) I am not currently using a 35mm adapter.

Thanks,
Chad

No, there is no easy way. Can it be done? Sure, but how much do you want to spend? It would require building custom glass.

what would happen if you used a 35mm 16:9 anamorphic lens?

Camera 16:9 lens?

No that wouldn't work actually :). The CCD size is a different aspect ratio from film so you would end up with a different ratio in the end once you unsqueeze the image.

That said, are there 16:9 film lenses? I don't think I've ever seen one!

so how can you go about doing 16:9 with the adapter? just crop it during post?
