How to correct a flipped and upside down image?

I'm making a directors viewfinder, which will also be used as detachable viewfinder on my DOF adapter.
Is it possible to correct the image without using mirrors or pentaprisms?
This is a possible setup:

I think Aaron Shaw said something about correcting this with lenses.
Or do I need to do it differently. I cutting the sides of a photo camera (the useless parts used for the film) as a second option.

Note: I need the DOF.

Oscar,

You are still going to need a mirror to deflect it to the eye piece, because the DV camera has to find a place in the mix.

Leo, I meant that the whole thing is apart from the lens and GG of the adapter. It should be mounted on top of it somewhere.
Also be used as directors finder, so it must be able to detach easily.
I think I make rectangles on the (static) GG to mark the view of other (bigger) lenses.
