Gev,

Are you going to sell your item? Any chance of a look-see inside?

Jun Tang October 16th, 2005 06:01 PM

Bump this...

Nice job Gev....very nice.

So when are you going to mass produce that?

Leo Mandy October 16th, 2005 06:42 PM

I too would love to see this on the market!

Gev Babit October 19th, 2005 02:33 AM

I dont think I will mass produce guys, it was very hard to just get this one. I will try to get some pictures of the iside if I can. I'm working on a short film, so if I have time I'll try to get the iside pics up!

If I may be so bold, where did you find the gearbox?

Jun Tang October 24th, 2005 10:19 PM

Actually, no. As an assistant cameraman for more than a couple years, usually the job is done from camera left side, as that's where all the other important camera controls that the assistant cameraman deals with are.

I would figure another 2 months of them just talking about it (and catching up on Micro35 orders), 3 months for them to finalize a design and release it, 2 months of waiting for the first batch to complete because of a design error or supplier error, another month for the re-design and 4 months for them to actually ship your focus unit. That's (calculating.....) another year before you would actually get it. You will probably be able to buy a real one by then.
