Guerilla35 + DVX100a Footage

Hello all,

I received my G35 prototype yesterday, and have since been doing random, around the house kinds of tests. This footage isn't of anything too thrilling, but I intend to take my gear around with me tomorrow to get some more diverse footage.

This is a roughly 3 minute video, in 480x360 or the full 720x480 resolution. But before I get to the links, here's a bit about what I used:

Camera:
DVX100a

Scene File Settings:
Detail Level: -2
V Detail Level: -7
Detail Coring: -7
Chroma Level: +4
Chroma Phase: -7
Color Temp: +4
Master Ped: -15
A.Iris Level: -2

Gamma: Cine-Like_V
Knee: (Auto)
Matrix: Norm
Skin Tone Dtl: On

V Detail Freq: Thick
Progressive: 24P(ADV)

Lens:
Nikon 50mm f/1.8 AF Nikkor

And here's the video:

480x360: Long.mov - 16 MB, 480x360

720x480: Long-Full.mov - 30 MB, 720x480

So, until next time when I have more footage!

I forgot to post more updates here. I shot another video, which is a little more "cinematic" than the last. Feel free to check it out:

VIDEO #2 - "Car"

480x360: Car.mov - 16 MB, 480x360

720x480: Car-Full.mov - 30 MB, 720x480

More coming soon!

Looking good man! Esp the part of the car coming to a stop. The film look is there. Good job.

whats g35

Whats is Guerilla35? a software?

Wayne Kinney January 13th, 2006 08:54 AM

It is a lens adapter like my SG35 that allows you to use 35mm lenses on a camcorder to acheive the same DOF and FOV as real 35mm camera's. Give a nice film look.

I agree, the car vid was great. Loved the look from both the G35 and the color settings.

Thanks, everyone.

I've got yet another new video. This one is all inside-the-car, out-the-window footage. It's 4 minutes long, and gets a little repetitive, but it's still all amazing to look at.

Quick Info

As the video progresses, the sunlight fades away into complete darkness, so you'll be able to see how the G35 handles itself outside.

I applied some color correction, but in the best interest of seeing how the G35 performs, I didn't darken, or brighten any areas. Only the colors were altered.

I wasn't able to get a full-res version up this time, but I do have a 480x360 up, which is still quite a large viewing area.

VIDEO #3 - "Drive"

480x360: Drive-3.mov - 29 MB, 480x360

Let me know what you think!

Mark Wisniowski January 13th, 2006 10:41 AM

Thanks a bunch for uploading these wonderful tests !

Cody Dulock January 13th, 2006 11:40 AM

footage looks good.

on a side note: there is alot of "halo-ing" around the lights at night time... do you think your settings are off or something?

Tyler Baptist January 14th, 2006 11:04 PM

Wow! All these tests look amazing!! I think I'm in love with the G35. Hahaha.

Car video

Nice look with the car ,,,how did you get the shots to be fast in some places and slow in others ? That look is nice ..

I use mostly PCs and I want to know how to acheive that fast/slow look

Cheers Al
