Know anything about the MovieTube?
 

Hello again-

I'm interested in slapping one of these devices on an HVX200, but only if it's a complete system. Anybody worked with this particular adaptor? Some hands-on accounts would be great, as the price tag is up there...

I emailed them about it and they were very abrupt. Just like "yes - pay 7000 euro and you have it" no real info on shipping [they "quoted E400! etc] They don't have the American customer service ethos.

It also appears [in all clips seen to date] to have a strong vignetting/falloff at the edges of frame.

None of the "pro" accessories are available.

I would pass on it. Get Dan's Adapter [MPIC] or a Mini 35, or be like the thousands that are "waiting" for the G35.

Where's the video clips?

That's pretty standard for certain countries in Europe. It's not wrong, it's just how it is. We Americans may be a step better at customer service but we're still behind the Japanese.

In America we have a saying - "The customer is always right."
In Japan there is a saying - "The customer is God."

GM and Ford currently may go bankrupt, meanwhile Toyota is the largest and healthiest car company on the planet, and Honda just won best pickup of the year award. Perhaps Movietube and the rest of the us could learn a thing or two from those folks.

doesn't the movietube also flip the image? if i had the money, id go for the p+s technik instead.

The movietube is rubbish, i have tested it in London, with one of the distributors. Please don't do it. It's heavy, light loss is 2stops, and vignetting and lots of grain. Seriously, i've seen DIY stuff that is better.

Thanks everyone for the heads-up. I was interested mainly because of the ergonomics of the frame. I demoed the device at cinec and it felt like a 435 on my shoulder -- very well balanced. I thought the picture was fairly clean too. It sounds like E7000 is WAY too much for this particular device.
