c mount lenses?
i tried to search but cant find anything
would c mount lenses work allright.. i know they have c mount to fd adapters but what about the other way around? c mount to fd adapter http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-C-MOUNT-to-C...QQcmdZViewItem |
The flange depth is too short, 17.52mm. You can't get the rear element of the lens close enough to the ccd's without cannibalizing most cameras.

no... i mean the rear element onto ground glass

C-mount lenses are primarily used in 16mm and cctv aplications. Meaning they at best will project a 12X16mm image onto a GG. Focusing on an image so small will magnify grain as well as causing additional light loss because you have to zoom in so far and most lenses are slower at long focal lengths. On the upside it can make for a much shorter adapter because the rear flange depth is so shallow. If you're into it, rock on, don't let me discourage you. Also CS mount lenses have an even shorter flange depth of 12.5mm so the distance to the GG is tiny by comparison to the larger 35mm adapters.
