I do this to, I actually use the moon a few times as my distance object, cant get much more 'infinity' then that...hehehe.

Never tried that. I like smaller objects. It makes it easier for me to see whether it's crystal clear or not, as I move the GG back and forth past the proper point.

I will say to anyone trying to achieve perfect infinity focus, that although the distance needs to be exact (to the tune of about a half a mm), it's not that hard to get done.

Yes a smaller point of light would be good. A distant street lamp is good I guess.
