Thanks Wayne. The merrit is yours. Without you, I wouldnt have make it:)
Today I will put in, and screw the PCX lens too, and will cut the tube to size, like you said. After the stepup ring will arrive, I will connect the camcorder to the adapter and will make a rail system. More footage then.

hi to all I'm Matteo from Italy
I'm building an adapter more or less like yours Boica
before watching your thread I plan to make a static adapter
canon fd mount with a f3 nikon d type screen
but now I think I'll made something like this one :-)
is it possible to know what kind of material is the gg?
many thanks

Ben Winter July 20th, 2006 10:32 AM

It's wayne's own hand-made ground glass. It's a good thing you're not trying to make it with the Nikon D screen, they're impossible to find now :).

Wayne Kinney July 20th, 2006 10:42 AM

Yes thats right, i made this for Boica from a microscope slide and 600 grit silicon carbide.

Matteo Pozzi July 20th, 2006 12:35 PM

cool ...maybe if I've time I try to compare the two
I've a nikon gg at home but i haven't found a shop in italy that sell silicon carbide of any grit did you know where I can buy a pack of it and also the microscope slide?

Wayne Kinney July 20th, 2006 12:55 PM

A new week, a new photo. But this time it is assembled. Not entirely, because I'm waiting a stepup ring to arrive, but thats the last thing for my adapter to be completed.
Here is a photo of it assembled.

Hi guys. Im back with my adapter. This time Im showing you some framegrabs that I mad this morning before I went to work. One picture is of my adapters inside. The motor is not vibrating in these grabs, because I had to hold the adapter in my hands, because the rail system is not ready yet.

Dennis Hingsberg August 13th, 2006 08:12 PM

Sorry for silly question, but how does the disc motor actually translate to vibration?

Thanks!

Alex Chong August 13th, 2006 09:21 PM

There is an offset weight encased in a flat cylinder as can be seen in the photo showing the motor attached to the GG. The motor turns and the vibration is caused by the offset weight turning. The vibration is only in the x-y planes and not in the z plane. This is further restricted by only allowing the GG to vibrate or oscillate in the x-y planes by using the syringe stick. Hope that clears it up.

Dennis, You have seen such in beepars and cellulars.

Boica Zsolt August 16th, 2006 03:05 AM

Hi everyone. I'm back from my vacation, and I bring you a 3 minute footage with my completed adapter with an achromat. This time too I have to thank Wayne Kinney, because he sent me this achromat. He is a great man. Without him, I'd have no adapter. THANKS WAYNE. YOUR THE BEST.

So here is three links to the footage. They are archived in rar, because it was too large. The adapter has moments, when its not vibrating, because the batteryes are taped to the adapter, and the wires to the batteryes. Will have to find a good battery holder. :) Here are the links:
