alternative gg (with real film grain)

...damn I cannot sleep

I came up with another idea of an alternative gg. Maybe it works!

With an analog camera and diafilm (ISO100 /200) shoot some greycards.
Go and develop the film. Then cut out the one you like and use it in your 35mm adapter as gg. You have real filmgrain.

In the vibrating adapter this may look good.

Interesting... You could blast light at a grey card and photograph it at different f-stops.

Although would it diffuse it enough?

Shoot it out of focus ??

It has been discussed here and no, it will not work.
Next thing is to try those shopping bags and such and many months and euros later you`ll find that GGs found in commercial products (SGpro included) are the best.

Sooner or later you`ll end up with spinning GG/PCX setup or with frensel focusing screen of some kind.

If your talk about using a negative or slide, then no, it has zero diffusion.

However, sometimes the translucent plastic sleeves that the negatives come in are good diffusers...
