Dennis was standing still and I just sped the shot up in the edit by 300% I should have shot it using the variable frame rate of the hvx to get a blurrier look to the cars when sped up.

The Sigma is a very very useful lens, it has a very nice easy focus ring that makes focus racks very easy, especially compared to my Zeiss lenses which have an almost 360 degree turn to do a full rack.

I havent used the rods yet to mount the brevis, but if you are using the jvc then i would definately recommend using rods. The sigma isnt too heavy but with the fujinon lens, brevis and sigma you have one long beast. A bit like when I mounted my Brevis onto my XDCAM HD!! It looks sooooo long!!

By the way I was wrong at the top of this thread. I shot it 720p THEN downgraded to DV for editing as adaptor free stuff on this project is shot in DVCAM on the XDCAM HD, in SD of course. Hoping that production companies will start investing in more HD edit gear soon!

You have a pic of your brevis on your XDCAM? Any footage to show?

I don't really connect with most documentaries unless they are issues that I'm most concerned about. Homeless people are one of those. Do a good one Phil!

no footage to hand, to be honest is makes very little difference as far as I can tell, just less compressed.Slightly unwieldy too, will be better with rods.

Hi Phil,

Im at home now and I havent got my Macbook Pro with me, its at the office. I want see those clips again but my quicktime player on my other Mac wont play it because the required compressor could not be found, the sound works but no video, Ive never really used my quicktime before so Im not sure what to do. No probs with my macs at the office. Can anyone help??? I want to see it again, cant wait till 2morro!!

Quicktime should work but otherwise download VLC player at Videolan.org

Great looking footage but amazing subject. I actually have to say the soft feel, how 35MM adapters soften colors and the whites, for this piece, its perfect. So powerful, great work!

Thanks Jeremy. The Brevis is standing up very well in low light. Amazing to use after having used the Redrock for a month and having to blast most things with light.

I think im sold on wanting to get one.
