Stretching the imagination
 

Ok, the preface to my idea is that I am failing to find a decent lcd/plasma that I can use at wedding shows etc to show my demos.

So I came up with the following idea.

What if, I took a projector, shot it on the backside of a piece of glass/plexiglass, flipping the image so it shows correctly on the opposite side of the glass. I've never tried it, and I wish I had a projector on hand. But for those who are smarter than I, what do you think?

I know I would have heat issues related to the projector. It also would look unconventional at the show. I called a projector sales person, they told me to just try it. But before I go buy glass or whatever, I wanted to get some feed back from my dvinfo friends.

yes that works but a piece of plexiglas for a big presentation is too expensive and you cant fold it. Go and buy yourself a canvas for backprojection thats a much way cheaper. Just google around.

Yeah, one of the issues I have related to the LCD/Plasma, is the booths at wedding shows only put about 4 feet between your viewer and the screen, so most of the flat screens look bad at that distance.

I went to the link you provided, thank you very much. I'll look for the english translation or get a web utility to translate it. Rear projection to canvas might be a good option.

Still thinking and researching.

I tried rear projection with such a canvas and the quality was great and the best is you dont get the shadows from your audience on your image.
If you want the distance between projector and canvas to be closer screw a 0.5 wide angle lens from a digicam on your projector. I succeeded to get a 4x3 meter image with a projector-canvas distance of 1.80 meters.
