I want to make a blood squirter with a bug sprayer, I only found one post on here about it and it wasn`t clear enough for my non-mechanical mind. I know you need a bug sprayer, hose, and clamp....but what kinds of each? I want an object exit blood shot...so it`ll simulate the sword coming out the chest from behind.

You and your blood Nathan! Gosh! lol, just kidding..

Anyways, theres this concept I found: http://www.stormforcepictures.com/howto-makecompressedairbullethits.php
Side-note: Its graphic.

I would recommend using an air-compressor though.. I never tried it, but heard its easier.

Good luck,

A bug sprayer is what I've used in a couple of shorts. Learned about it from Tom Savini. (By the way, if you can find his book "Grand Illusions" it's full of great gore tips.)

Basically, fill the sprayer with yourblood solution and pump it up. The 'handle' of the sprayer is what you will controll the spray with. From the end of the spayer, you run your hose to the exit wound. Pressurize the pump and whn you need the 'spray' squeeze the trigger.

This is a 'set up' shot, not something the actor can be mobile with, as the blood FX controller has to be just out of the shot and is connected to the actor by the tubing.

Good luck.

we´ve had pretty good results with pvc hoses sealed at one end, small hole filled with chewing gum and one of those air pressure drain cleaner things at the other (since we couldnt get those cool insect spray things in a hurry).
